The Baka

3 days / 2 nights from Yaoundé
If you're in Cameroon on business or for a short break, our 3-day trips are made for you! Discover the way of life of the first inhabitants of the forest and experience extraordinary moments during your stay!
The Baka people are an ethnic group who live in the tropical forests of eastern Cameroon, where they are known as the Baka, in the south as the Bagyeli, in the north of the Republic of Congo as the Bayaka, in Gabon as the Bakoya or Babongo and in the south-west of the Central African Republic as the Aka. They live exclusively off the products of the forest, and are hunters, fishers and gatherers. Under the influence of the government and missionaries, they are gradually becoming sedentary.
